Privacy policy

Marvel Universy is a personal fan project to organize your Marvel marathon. This page explains, in plain words, what data the app uses and why.
What we collect
When you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email and profile photo, plus an account identifier. That's all: the app doesn't ask for your contacts, Gmail, Drive or any other data in your account.
What you record in the app: the status of each title (to watch, watching, watched), ratings, dates, notes, favorites and the streaming services you subscribe to.
How we use it
Only to save your marathon and show it back to you on any device. Your name and photo appear only in your profile menu.
We don't sell, rent or share your data with anyone, and there are no ads.
Usage statistics
We use Google Analytics to learn, in aggregate, how many people visit the app and which pages are viewed most. It sets cookies in your browser and records technical information such as pages opened, device type, browser and approximate region. We don't send your name, email or anything you track in your marathon to Analytics, and Google's advertising features are turned off.
If you'd rather not be counted, block the site's cookies in your browser or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout).
Where it is stored
In Firebase (Google Cloud), protected by rules that only let you read and change your own data.
Your browser keeps a local copy of your progress and a cache of artwork so the app opens quickly. When you sign out, the local copy of your progress is deleted.
Third-party services
Artwork, synopses, cast and where to watch come from TMDB (which uses JustWatch data); images load from TMDB's servers. Trailers play through YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which only sets cookies once a video plays. Sign-in and usage statistics are provided by Google. Each follows its own privacy policy.
Your rights
You can export your marathon as CSV and reset all progress at any time in My marathon. To delete your account entirely, contact the app's support email and we'll remove all your data.
You can also revoke Marvel Universy's access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page will be updated.
